  • What is Staircase?

Stair: The steps that made for moving from one floor to other floor called Stairs or Staircase.

  • What Is Trade?

Trade: Trade is the horizontal part of the step. In other words, the horizontal part of the staircase, called Trade.

  • What is Riser?

Riser: The riser is a vertical part of two steps, which provides support to the trade.

  • Mention the relation between Tread and Rise According to American and Indian Standard

1. According to American Code:

  • Trade + Riser = 44 cm
  • Trade * Raiser = 400 to 450 cm2

2. According To Indian Code:



  • Trade + 2*Riser = 60 cm
  • Trade * Riser = 400 to 410 cm2

Suppose,

Step number = 10 Nos.

Trade width = 10 inches

Riser height = 6 inches

The total width of the steer = 8 feet.

The width of a flight of steer = 4 feet.

Landing width = 4 feet.

Landing length = 8 feet.

Width of beam = 1 feet.

Beam = 2 Nos.

Landing = 2 nos.

Reinforcement,

Main Rod = 12 mm dia. @ 4 inch C / C

Extra Top = 12 mm dia. @ 4 inch C / C

Binder Rod = 10 mm dia @ 6 inch C / C

West Slab Length = Trade Width * Step Number.

= 10 x 10

= 100”

= 8’- 4”

Main Rod (12 mm dia.),

Length: (Beam Width * 2) + (Landing * 2) + Waist Slab Length

= (1 x 2) + (4 x 2) + 8’- 4”

= 2 + 8 + 8’- 4”

= 18’- 4”

= 19’- 0”

Number of Main Rod= (Width/ Rod spacing) + 1

= (48”/ 4”) + 1

= 12 + 1

= 13 nos.

So, Total Main Rod = 19’-0” x 13

= 247’- 0”

Extra Top (12 mm dia.)

Length= Beam Width + Landing + (L/4)

= 1 + 4 + (8’-4”/4)

=1 + 4 + 2’-1”

= 7’- 1”

Number of Extra Top = between two main rods, there will be an extra top.

  = 11 nos.

Extra top on two sides of a flight.

So, total extra top = 7’-1” x 11 x 2

   = 155’- 9”

Binder for Waist Slab main bar, (10 mm)

Length = 4’-0”

Quantity= (100”/ 6”)

  = 17 nos.

So, Total Binder= 4’-0” x 17

= 68’- 0”

Binder for Waist Slab Extra Top (10 mm)

= (2’- 1” / 6”) x 2

= 8 nos.

So, Total Binder = 4’- 0” x 8

= 32’- 0”

Landing,

Bottom Binder = (48” / 6”)

      = 8 nos.

Top Binder = 8 nos.

Total = 16 nos.

Total Binder = 8’-0” x 16

  = 128’- 0”

Total Reinforcement 12 mm. dia,



= Main Rod + extra top

= 247’- 0” + 155’- 9”

= 402’- 9”

= 402.75’

= 122.8 meter

Weight = (0.89 x 122.8) kg     [12mm dia. 1m rod weight = 0.89 kg]

= 109.30 kg

= 110 kg

Total Reinforcement 10 mm. dia.

= Main Bar + Extra Top + Landing (1 nos.)

= 68’- 0” + 32’- 0” + 128’- 0”

= 228’- 0”

= 69.51 meter (for one waist slab & landing)

Weight= (0.62 x 69.51) kg       [10mm dia. 1m rod weight = 0.62 kg]

Total Reinforcement= {(110+43) x 2} kg.

= 306 kg.
